Countdown To Final Crisis #1

Thank Gods its over! I desperately wanted to like this series so I kept with it. Yet, it has been one big mess from the get go and it never recovered. I already pre-sold my set on Ebay for $75 and I was happy to get that back. Glad Final Crisis is from a totally other team. 

If we are really lucky. Orion Wil open a portal to our world and Mary Marvel will beat Dan Dido to a pulp using Jimmy Olsen as a weapon

if we are luckier, Orion will open a portal to the past before they started this title and tell the DC staff to write something that doesn't suck balls.

I've never read every issue of something & been so glad it's over. I wish I dropped it early on, because once it got past the halfway mark, I kept thinking "I better stay on board now, or I wasted all that time & money" ... and ended up wasting even more time & money waiting for this series to get good.

It never did. 

Definatley not as good as 52, but I still loved it!!! Not sure why there is so much Countdown hatred going around..it was not that bad....much better than most of the stuff Marvel is putting out....and yes I do buy alot of Marvel books also!!

I didn't care about any of the characters in Countdown so I never followed it.  I applaud DC for using C and D-listers to tell the story, thats a bold step, but Countdown never meant anything to me because of it.  And everytime I'd flip through an issue I found the art pretty ugly. 

May be just me but I liked DC before Infinite Crisis.  I have loved certain books since written by a couple guys I'm sure we all agree are great writers, but on a whole I kind of don't care about DC since I.C. 

I love the way DC makes an effort to make their lower-tier characters important to major events. That's something I wish Marvel did more of.  Still, this series sucked. I started it, and gave up pretty quickly.  Too expensive to stick with.

All the build up and hype and it ends with a little whimper where nothing is really resolved!?!?!?!?!?

Where is the PAYOFF of 52 weeks of reading? The earth shattering conclusion? 

@Unoob- This was called Countdown to Final Crisis, so the payoff will be in Final Crisis.  Hopefully it will be in Final Crisis.  I do feel where you are coming from though.  This series has made me hate myself for continously buying it.

Not that I loved this seris i did like some of it and im willing to bet this will be much better if read in trade, kinda like 52 for me.

Okay, so this was the worlds longest introduction to a new 'super team', a redeemed villian and a bad girl team up? WTF?

The only payoff this series had was $150+ to my comic dealer......it was kinda like extortion or 'protection' money. Except I feel more violated than protected.

@captamerica101 - No, there isn't a COUNTDOWN 0.  There is DC UNIVERSE #0 which is a primer for FINAL CRISIS.

This is it...if Countdown doesn't start to pick up soon I'm dropping this book!!

fuckDC for giving the glorious ending of DEATH OF THE NEW GODS to this peice of garbage. 

This book, combined with the Death of the New Gods should be retitle, how to make someone feel like an asshole for buying an entire series of books only to have NOTHING happen and feel like an entire year of waiting led to nothing.  Seriously?  This book was a god damned cock tease of nothingness.  Remember when they told us to look to the skies?  Well he was right, look to the skies cause they are more interesting than the WEAKLY shit DC is putting out.  The thing that pisses me off the most is that I got 7 issues into Death of the New Gods only to have the ending ruined in countdown 2 last week, and now I'm in the dillema of deciding to buy the last of an 8 part series in hopes of some big twist that we need to know, but no, no no no no no no....  I hate you today DC, 0 better be realllllllllly freaken good...

Like some doomsday sect this apparantly counted down to nothing at all.

Countdown was utter bilge and I want my money back. That was a year of my stupid life! DC should be ashamed for treating readers so badly. I was like a prisoner of Transformation Island, begging Wonder Woman to spank me.

well so much for coutdown be really good the last month. #2 should have been the last issue, at least it woul have been interesting, after reading this issue I was just dissappointed.

I saw the rating on here before I read the issue & thought you guys were being a little harsh ... then I read the issue. It's totally justified.

What a piece of shit, just like the whole series was. A character who hasn't been in the entire 51 issue story (Orion) comes & saves the day? That's gotta be the worst story idea in a long ass time. I am shocked the DC editors  approved it, & let them print it. Then the big finale issue wraps up with a bunch of 4th rate characters sitting around and talking? Wow. I really am stunned at just how bad this series was.

Ya, that really left me with a "that's f*cking it?" feeling.
