Cinderella From Fabletown With Love #1 (OF 6)
When supernatural artifacts from the Homelands begin surfacing in the modern world, it falls to Cinderella, Fabletown's best kept (and best dressed) secret agent to stop the illegal trafficking. But can Cindy foil the dark plot before Fabletown and its hidden, exiled inhabitants are exposed once and for all? And how does her long lost Fairy Godmother factor into the equation?
Whether she's soaring through clouds, deep-sea diving, or cracking jaws, Cindy travels from Manhattan to Dubai and hooks up with a handsome, familiar accomplice who may be harboring secret motives of his own. Meanwhile, trouble brews back home in Fabletown when Cindy's overworked, underappreciated assistant decides to seize control of The Glass Slipper, Cindy's exclusive shoe boutique.
Writer Chris Roberson (occasional contributor to HOUSE OF MYSTERY and JACK OF FABLES), artist Shawn McManus (SANDMAN, THESSALY: WITCH FOR HIRE) and evocative new cover painter Chrissie Zullo deliver Cindy's first major solo adventure replete with sex, spies and magical shoes in the 6-issue CINDERELLA: FROM FABLETOWN WITH LOVE.

I'm confident it will:)
Posted by vadamowens on 11/02/09 at 04:36 PMI havent read any Fables since the war, but i'm interested in this story.
Posted by deadspace on 11/02/09 at 10:32 PMDoes this take place after the crossover event, or is it out of continuity? (I read Fables and jack in trade, so I try and avoid spoilers).
Posted by Notahiro on 11/05/09 at 02:37 PMIt most definitely takes place before the Dark Ages and after the war, but whether it's in continuity or not is still to be seen (although I'm guessing it doesn't matter.)
Posted by Cooper on 11/05/09 at 03:58 PMI would love to see this continue as an ongoing series.
Posted by vinh on 11/05/09 at 05:43 PMThat was a fun issue.
Posted by stuclach on 11/05/09 at 09:10 PMHoly god this was one of the best Fables stories I've ever read. I'm not familiar with the creative team but now I feel like I should be. Definitely a front runner for POW. I'd recommend this to everyone, FABLES fan or not. I think this would be a great fantasy story for a preteen/early teen girl. Can't wait until this gets collected. 5/5.
Posted by kwisdumb on 11/06/09 at 04:23 AMI agree. This may turn out to be my pick as well. That's covers pretty fucking sweet too.
Posted by vadamowens on 11/06/09 at 07:47 AMI loved the cliffhanger. It is fitting that this issue came out the same week they reran the #1's Video Podcast.

This looks quite promising. Cinderella has been underused recently. I hope this mini does her character justice.
