Re-start? Huh? What are they re-starting?
I dropped this book when Gail Simone left. Is it any good these days?
Posted by WadeWilson on 04/22/08 at 04:28 AMIt's been fairly solid, but I think it suffers from he absence of Black Canary. Strays a little too far from the original concept.
Posted by southbymidwest on 04/22/08 at 10:26 PMI jumped on this book and it was pretty good. Seems like they're in transition so perhaps changes are afoot.

the loss of black canar REALLY hurts this book, as she was such a deep, strong character who carried the same weight as oracle. now only huntress really fills that role - zinda is clearly second-tier. i think that there are too many second-tier players in this book, and that hurts it...but that said, this was a bit better than some previous issues.
nitpick: would oracle EVER call someone "jerkface?" yeesh.
Posted by TehDave on 04/24/08 at 10:10 AMBirds of Prey was thoroughly enjoyable, with some fun new villains, a good showing for Misfit and great visuals from the always improving Nicola Scott. It's a shame Sean McKeever is off the book soon, I like his stuff. (I do hope, though, that this villainous Tuatara is no relation to the old Global Guardian!)
Posted by Mart on 04/24/08 at 08:16 PMthe restart I was referring to was Manhunter's solo title picks up where it left off with Andreyko at the helm.
As for Birds of Prey I think McKeever's got a grip on this group and this was a fantastic issue.
The Black Canary dynamic was great, but Huntress, Oracle and Misfit are really making this book worth reading.
