Plus, the trades are so well done.
Posted by misterS on 02/12/08 at 09:51 PMErr, shouldn't this be issue #1? I don't recall a #1 of this and the Astro City homepage seems to suggest that this week a first issue will be released, though that comic has a different cover than the black and white thing shown above.
Whatever, I'm down with Astro City whenever wherever however.
Posted by flapjaxx on 02/13/08 at 07:19 PMIt's not a number 2. It's a special character issue about Beautie. A complete one shot.
There's no #2 on the actual cover.
I kind of wish he'd just switch back to straight numbering, and tell the stories that way, in a sort of anthology for the City.
Jimski, I don't think it's that he doesn't care about the book, but rather the opposite. It's ALWAYS the same creative teams, and the releases are likely subject to their schedules at this point.
Posted by josh on 02/14/08 at 10:51 AMIt's too bad Astro City only come out once in a blue moon, Busiek is a genius. If you haven't picked up "Beautie" then run out and get it.
Posted by jonloveless on 02/15/08 at 12:31 AMI didn't know this was coming out!! Can't wait to go get it!!!
Posted by Dez on 02/16/08 at 04:43 PMThis book was pretty good. A little heart-breaking.

I really, really like Astro City, but I can't get this. It's so sporadically released, it's like a paradox: the labor of love that the creator doesn't seem to care about. It's probably best to switch to trades from now on.
