FINALLY, a TMNT issue without Jim Lawson's art. I miss the days of Tales when they had rotating artists and writers. They need to go back to that. This and the regular title have been lacking for many issues. Although, the new Michelangelo mini that came out a few weeks ago was GREAT (despite Lawson art). Hope this is good for once cuz buying these titles out of nostalgia and love for the Turtles is getting expensive.

@Comicdork... I could not agree more!! I started reading these around issue 25(ish) and remember all the great different artists. It truely was the best part of the book--all the different interpretations. I was too turned off by the Lawson art to even look at the Michelangelo mini...is it worth it?

Lawson used to be a lot better (City at War, TMNT Vol. 2), and his stuff on the main series is solid, but his work on Tales is just lazy.

This was great. The art and the story were dark and gritty as they should be.

@KreiderDesigns: The Michelangelo series is REALLY good so far (only 1 issue has come out). The story plays on the fears of the public about alien visitors promising the cure to cancer among other things. This has the country divided and Michelangelo curious. It's Lawson art but the story more than makes up for it. Check out the first issue if this sounds interesting, I'm on board for the ride.

@PTAhole: I have seen some old Lawson stuff that I liked and didn't even know it was Lawson until after I read it. His newer style is just to angular for me and all his faces look the same (he draws some of the most unattractive females in comics).

Thanks for the kind words on the issue guys. Paul and I have some pretty cool plans for more Turtles stories, and if you dug this and our previous work (#36) you'll LOVE what's coming! Be sure to let them know you dug it at Mirage -- they don't hear feedback nearly as much as they should!
