Sorry, I just couldn't get into the artwork. I wanted to like this, but I think I'll just go read the reprints of the Alex Raymond stuff.

I got an advanced copy of this book (the guy who runs my store is one of the publishers), and I have to say, it's friggin' awesome. It's like an "Ultimate Flash Gordon" - very dark, very well thought out, and the art is beautiful.
